I will try and get time to write to Charlie - one of these days - and tell him something about the Indians - their ponies and their gay equipments - I wish he could be here just to take a look through the Camp for a day - I am very sorry to hear of Susan's continued sickness - and earnestly hope she will soon recover and be well again - Give her my love and assure her the nothing can ever change or lessen it - and that I will try and get [ ? ] to write to her -

     I hope there is a letter on the way for me from Louisa to whom I will also write one of these days - I will probably drop John a note by this mail - I have written much more than I expected to when I began, rather expect it will take two Stamps - and cost
