Fort Gibson (unclear)) May 8th 1872 My Dear Alice - Major Dewey has written to me that he will be here to-day to pay the two companies at this point - He is now at the end of track-M.K.and T. R.R. to pay Capt. See's Company. He has been directed not to go to Fort Sill - as the troops there will be paid by Paymaster from San -Antonio - I am in receipt of Letters from John in answer to my letter written upon ((unclear))((unclear)) Apl 29th.

    The Cavalry Corps Association met at Cleveland to-day I have telegraphed General Sheridan to tender my regrets.  Breakfast is ready - good morning. As ever Affectionately B. H. Grierson
