TO GLORIOUS ST. ANDREW APOSTLE.

For his Holiday Celebrated in the Church of ST. ANGELO in Pescaria by the Fishmongers of Rome.

SONNET

Dedicated to the most Eminent and Reverent Gentleman, Sir CARDINAL GIROLAMO GASTALDI.

On Application of Sir Vicenzo Conti.

From the Sea of Galilee the humid Loots Takes away your Hand with eager guidance; And in this bitter Aegeus fishes for the Faith, Bow to whose Triumphs every Eye rises.

After that there you turn, where one can see Of your Full Brother the heaven-sent Boat, Who of Eternal Argonauts has been made Heir On the bosom still of a liquid danger.

And speak against the Tyrannic Swirls; I of the native Jordan on the high outfall thru the trail I leave the sweet troubles.

And thunder, raising up to the Sky the sublime Voice; Ah, to escape of the World the notorious Deceptions, be helpful to Peter the Boat, and to ma a CROSS.

IN ROME, By Marc'Antonio, &Oratio Campana 1684. With license of Superiors.
