On Friday [illeg.] died at his house in [Exter?] The [illeg.] [illeg.] [?eech] M. A. Archdioces of Cornwall, [town?] [Keridententhany?] of that Cathedral [stain/correctioin?] He was a sincere Christian, and consequently a good man: and [thus?] he lived in the constant [exercise?] of all Christian Virtues, he [despised?] an affectation [singularity?]; knowing hypocrisy only by the name. As a [Signitary?] of the Cathedral, his general [behaviors] gained him the affection and confidence of its members. He lived respected by all and his death would be the more lamented, were it not for the consolation of knowing that his lot is among the Saints.---- [5 flourishes]
