Wednesday Aug 7th 1861 Another hot day children full of heat. Pauline our French girl talks of returning to Switzerland. I am sorry. we are all well but Virginia she has / tooth ache. Thursday Aug 8th 1861 It is quite warm to day. Mr. Badger and children went to Depot to receive Mr. Heywoods family. they did not come. I went down town and bought me a lawn dress. Met Mrs. Hilton & Ella. Virginia suffering so much from tooth ache that she had to get a man to come and put 2 leeches on her gum. they relieved her much but bled until 1 o clock in the night. She became quite faint for rest. I slept in bed with her all night. I am making my new lawn it rained hard all night
