Dear Johnny, I have not heard from you for a long time Are you all well. I have just returned from a very pleasant visit to Annie. Julius took me over in a buggy and brought me to unclear in the cars? and I came from there alone. I could have come all this way but he would come. I enjoyed the ride there very much the woods were in their height of beauty~ the road excellent and the weather alright ~ but ~ they seemed very glad to see me and all vied with each other to make me comfortable. It was truly delightful to walk thro the orchard gatherings nice big apples and over those great high hills an the fallen leaves ~ it seemed to me I have never seen hills before ~ so high, so steep, and so many ~ in fact nothing but hills ~ Mr Kuhn's house is on a very high one that commands a view of the town, rail roads and all the country round. I found them in the midst of apple butter making ~ of which they had 27 gallons ~ then they have 27 barrels of apples.
