have been extremly mortifying & gloomy to t. few faithful, & good among t. host. But as t. time was not yet arrived in wh. they were to enter Canaan. They must continue with t. multitude in their wanderings in t. wilderness, till the time of their pilgrimage should cease, which very aptly represents t state of t. rights. Sometimes in thier spiritual views, & meditations upon Hn, they obtain a glimpse of Holy glory. Sometimes at Gds table, sometimes in hearing t gospel preached, and sometimes, in their closets & when alone they seem to enjoy t. unclear presence of GoD, & behold his glory as manifested in all his word & works.
