IV.

your mind will be composed and ready for the ordeal. There is no harm in trying at any rate. I think that is about all I can write now. The days go so quickly and we want to accomplish so much and yet do very little outside of our work. I found a little petal of a rose in your letter, but haven't a flower book to look up the meaning. Can you tell me what it means? Hoping you are well. I remain your Sincere Friend, Ethel Pickette.

Regards from miss Doerge, This is all we have of the route. I forgot to thank you for sending the candy. It was very thoughtful of you, but when it reached De Moines, I guess the boy at the Millard hotel had a feast on the candy, as they rewrapped the box and filled it with time tables from the office over.
