Hillsdale, Michigan June 24th, 1876? My Dear Aunt Jennie:-

I believe I am owing you a letter, am I not? At any rate it is time I was, so I guess I will write and give you a chance to make me. It is over a week now since Commencement, but I don't seem to get much rested. Perhaps I am "constitutionally tired", but I guess I shall feel better after our journey we are thinking of making. And I must tell you about that. We expect to leave here the tenth of July and go first to Washington, where we shall stop a few days, and then go to Philadelphia

Written across the top: year. We regret it very much but Frank is obliged to get there as soon as possible on account of his business and it is considerable cheaper going that way. We hate to lose them terribly, especially the Baby Claire but it can't be helped. I wish you would write before we start if you can. Give a great deal of love to all, and take a large share for yourself - as ever lovingly- Hattie
