It seems that Dr.King’s views with regard to Polar geography have not coincided with those entertained by most of the eminent Arctic travellers, and have been especially at variance with those propounded by most of the hydrographers, and therefore his proposals have not met with the consideration they merit, at the hands of the different heads of government to whom he has for a long series of years propounded certain axioms in arctic travelling and volunteered to lead expeditions there for the sake of scientific knowledge of the Arctic regions, as he has now for the sake of humanity alone, satisfied in his own mind that his views on the subject will be found practical and substantially correct..
