My dear Sister: Your welcome letter was thankfully received and prompted me to use a few minutes in writing a little answer immediately. - Day before yesterday we had a letter from Elizabeth and Mary. They were well as usual, Mary seemed to be preparing to go home but she did not say what day she was expecting to start. - Yesterday we were very agreeably surprised by a letter from Pierce which, to save time of reporting, I will enclose.
