Cannot arrangement be made for keeping five thousand/5000/bushels of Corn at Griffin, it is now three months since requirements with regard to forage were understood and there is still trouble and delay every time a train goes in, there should be five thousand bushels ahead at Griffin and two thousand at Concho all the time - will send another Company to Concho in a few days.

                       The General Commanding desires that you will give brief answers to the following questions, embodying your personal knowledge on the points, referred to:

1st., What is the quality, quantity and permanency of the water in the following names streams; McClellan Creek, North Fork about mouth of McClellan Creek,

                   and the Sweetwater in or about the longitude of mouth McClellan Creek?

2nd., what is the character of Timber on each and the quantity and on which is there the greatest amount? 3rd., how are they comparatively as to the quality and abundance of grass in their vicinity? 4th., is there building-stone in the vicinity of either or all, and is the soil suitable for making adobes? 5th., what is the character of the country in the vicinity of each? 6th., is there coal, or evidences of it, in the vicinity of either? 7th., which is the nearest point from either to permanent timber for building fuel? 8th., can hay, in any amount, been cut in the vicinity or either or of all? 9th., are there bottoms to these streams and of what extent,
