Camp [Wright?] Situated five miles South of Louisville - Ky. Friday Sept 12th.

Dear Father and Mother 

   The Board of Trade Battery is now encamped as you will see by this heading on the sacred soil of [illegible] Kentucky, 3 miles south of Louisville.  Time will not permit me to give you a full account of our journey, to day being marching day.   But you may expect another letter from me in a day or two giving the particulars of our pleasant journey.
