Dear Sister Jane,

    It is fast about a year now since I left you all a longer than I have ever been absent from you all before at one time.  Some changes have passed over us since then.  Our dear invalid sister has greatly improved in health. I can hardly realise that she can walk again.  John has moved far away, and death has invaded his little circle.  How much I would give to hear that his health was restored and that they are happy in their new home.  I often think of them and pray for their prosperity.  It must have been hard for them so far away among strangers to weep for their precious babe alone.
