having killed another of the horse thieves, "Summers", a deserter from the 7th Cavalry, and captured one "Williams", beside recovering nine horses and ponies.

   I have to send out four men in the morning to relieve the citizen Couriers between here and Arbuckle.  I shall send dismounted men and let them take the mules now on the line.
