              Last night on towards morning some of the Indians left their Camp & ran off some of their stock & the Indian scouts were sent out to get around them & about 7 or 8 o'clock this morning the scouts attacked some of the fleeing Indians & killed three & captured about 40 head of horses & mules - the [illegible] was quite lively.
