Winchester Tenn. Aug. 9th 1863 Brother Isaac It is about your turn to receive a letter from me and it is now nearly a week since I have written home. The army moves I expect to-morrow morning with 12 days rations and as I do not know where we are bound for, I do not know when I shall have another opportunity to write. 

   Friends at home need not be anxious in regard to me.  I will write the first opportunity I have.   Our army is in as good condition now as it was the day we left Murfreesboro.  The
