Camp of the Chicago Board of Trade Battery Sabbath Dec 14th/62 (In camp 3 miles south of Nashville – Tenn) Dear Mother I have came to the conclusion that the best manner in which I can spend my leisure moments on this Sabbath afternoon is in writing to you and have accordingly set myself to the pleasant duty. My last letter home, was mailed on the 10th to brother Isaac, which I suppose you have received before now. Since then we have changed camp. We struck tents Friday noon, and marched to the front of our lines, which extend 5 miles south of Nashville
