March 18 to March 31 Albert Block School of Fine Arts University of Kansas Lawrence, Kansas 8 January 1927 My Dear Miss Roullier - If it were possible, I should like very much to come to Chicago during the exhibition of my pictures; but the question of expense would hold me back. Frankly, I could not afford the trip, and unclear I should like to see my pictures on the walls and visit again with old friends. Perhaps a way could be arranged, however, if the Arts Club would care to have me come and give an address of some kind - something connected with the field of painting: I have done a good deal of this kind of thing, and it seems that people are always glad to hear me, and ask me to come again. I should be happy if something of the sort could be managed in Chicago - unclear, on Saturday, the 18th or 25th of March - and a moderate fee were paid me, sufficient to cover the expenses of the journey.
