Murfreesboro April 12th 1863 Dear Mother Another beautiful Sabbath finds me in good health and tip-top spirits. Mr King has been spending the last 4 or 5 days with us and returns to Chicago tomorrow. As we received two months pay on last Thursday [$ symbol] 26.00 , I will probably send this letter and [$ symbol] 20 00/100 [00s are over 100] by him to you. I received the box you sent me by him (in good order) filled with the articles very acceptable to a soldier. I should have answered your letter sooner, but we have been very busy for the last week
