in pencil Ray, Judy [13 Dec 1983]

 Jack,
Do you happen to know anything about author Jack Balch, whose book Lamps at High Noon underlined

was published by Modern Age in the 1930's? He lived in St. Louis at that time. A friend of ours is doing some research on Richard Wright and came upon Balch's name. Was his second book ever published?

When we received the query from our friend we thought, of course, of you at once since you are so familiar

with all the publishing scene during that period of the 1930's & 40's. Let us know.

We wish you all the best for 1984. Judy
