savings, as Jack only gets 6 pounds-10 a week & a very small sum from the Shipping Co. after 50 years at sea. you will understand he received nothing for me, because we are not married, although, it would be easy for us to marry, because, I have not seen my husband for over ten years. Jack would like to marry, but I would never tie myself to any man again, if we did marry, he would receive another 3 pounds3 underlined a week. "Big deal" less than 10/- a day for my keep, so I'll stay as I am, we are quite comfortable, & have what we want to eat within reason, no one need worry over us, we have Fred, he is a very good friend to us both, & at last, I have a lovely little dog, a caran-terrier , "Lorma Krystal" her pedigree name, so we have named the bungalow "Lorma" I trust Gladys & yourself are well. I don't write much now since the post was made First class & second-class, what a load of rot, why not one price stamp for all letters, lots of things make you sick there days, don't they? write me a long letter hen you find time, tell me all the news. I would be so pleased to hear. Happy New Year to you both. I, too, often think of the London times together. Ellen Hire.
