Dear Mr. Anderson,

      I am very pleased that you consider it not useless to stay

over to talk at Hays, and I am also very glad that I shall have a chance to talk personally with you.

     If you will let me know when you arrive, rather, expect

to arrive, in Hays, I shall arrange to meet the train and take you to a hotel - if on the evening - or to school, if you come on a morning train.

    After you talk to the assembly, perhaps you should 

like to lunch with some of the members of the English faculty at the college dining hall. If so, we would be delighted to have you as our guest, possibly there might be some interesting discussion.

 I shall do whatever possible to make your few

hours here interesting and I am eagerly awaiting your arrival
