Dear Jack,

  O what a fall was there!  I can hardly believe it - always expected Himself to end impaled on his own blue pencil & carried out on a bed of galley proofs to the sound of muted trumpets.  Sounds like a combination of Khruschev and Willy Lomax.  (Lohman? oh well, you know.)
   Lucky you, trotting off to Europe - me, I haven't even been to the World's Fair yet.  Still writing science - now at Pfizer (pills) rhapsodizing on ulcers & high blood pressure.  This is a underlined: big company that has grown so fast it is self conscious about it - worries about the corporate image and wouldn't dare pul a Scrooge on the staff - in consequence the working day is short and gay.  However some fink is trying to get the joint oganized.  Head of Technical Writing (my niche)  is a Viennese Napoleon - real conversation
