Olivet, Michigan 19 April 1939. Dear Sherwood - It seems ages ago that we were all in New Orleans, but it was an oasis in an unending winter. Lord. I wish winter would go away - we continue to have snow and sleet, and still no sign of anything green. It was awfully good to see you, and many thanks for all the kind things you did. Our curious gang is scattered again - Phoebe I see fairly frequently at Shepherd, and Laura now and then, and Fred's been away on the road practically all the time
