Dear Jack:

 sorry to be so tardy answering your letter - but I've been going through a Change of 

Jobs and the strain has been severe - As you may know, for several years I had been editing a magazine for the Immigration & Naturalization Service - one of those technical jobs where you are afraid of printing anything that can be understood on first reading. Until recently it wasn't a bad job - but then the atmosphere began to get bad and I began to get depressed. Also, there was the fact that ^the agency was moving back to Washington, a prospect I disliked. So now I am in the silver mines of advertising - N.W. Ayer - I find it much more straight forward than some of the stuff going on in government agencies these days - By the way, there is a friend of yours
