Mike Gold 1924 Dear Sherwood Anderson, I guess you must think me a unclear to be flooding you with all this literature. But I thought you might like to see the magazines because you are now in California & this John Brown pamphlet might interest you if you have not read much about this middle-western hero. I got the impulse to read your Horses & Men after leaving you the other night & got it from a loan library here & have just finished it. Most of it is certainly great art - (or whatever art is,-I don't know myself) I like your passion for horses - When I was in Mexico & got to know them a little I always felt about them as one
