1863 20 Dunpheys folks moved in Chicago. the last week in may was very wet Ada not able to teach school Martha went in her place June 1 Cold and very high winds 8 Attended Mrs Moneys funeral 27 Harrison came here July 1 - Went to Chicago and got Adalines things 8 Harrison and Ada started for Vermont 16 Martha went to Mr Dunlaps and came home 26 Aug 6 Had a little shower, havent had unclear any rain for 2 months 8 9 Had a Busting thunder shower and a good rain 16 Martha and I went to the woods and got over two quarts of blackberries 21 Martha and Marietta went to Chicago Etta had her likeness taken to send to Vermont 29th great frost Sept 4 Went to Chicago made myself a birthday present of a PP 5 Delinda and Betsy came out here 6 Homers folks came out to Mr Irishes 7 Had rain in the forenoon 10 Had a fine shower 16 Went to Chicago with Homers folks staid till the 18 14 Went with Homer and Lucy out to Dunlaps and made cider Oct 5 Homers and Lucy got back from Minnesota started for Vermont 12 Martha went to Dunlaps to stay while Mrs Dunlap goes south 23 Went to David Robinsons funeral 22 Had snow storm two inches deep 29 Rained so hard the girls could not go to Ann Barstows quilting 30 Had another snow storm Nov 6 Ada got to Chicago from Vermont got home the 10 20 Ada and I went to Town with Mr. Chapman Dec 8 Girls have gone to Noble Tarishes to a dance the weather has been very mild for two weeks past
