Dear Jack,

Even though I wouldn't go to the auto-

graphing party which heralded the re- issuance of The Disinherited underlined, I was think- ing of you. Needless too say, I was de- lighted to get a copy of the book. I read it so many years ago that I'd forgotten just how good it is. May you produce more! A friend, Norma Saltmarsh, who worked with you at Standard in about 1950, was thrilled when her husband came home one night a copy for her, too. Every now and then I read where Merise? has made a speech or written a book review, or edited a book. Could be getting out of Consolidated did him good. Our best to you and your famuly, Jack, and we wish you continued success - like maybe a movie script one columnist suggested, if you wish that, too.
