Dear friends --

        The next dayunderlined after getting

the books - was having company to dinner yesterday - quite a feat for me at present, so I did not take all the books out un- til this a.m and found your letter.

         I certainly do remember

your sister & the delightful trip around the country side. Please thank her also for the books. I know how it is to move to a smaller place -- from 9 rooms on Green St. to 5 1/2 rooms on Hermitage Ave. to 3 1/2 rooms on Marquette. I feel that Merry Ann & I did a pretty good job, in bringing not only the essential, but many "luxury" items that make it a home.

   You've for me beat on the

great-grandchildren. Carol has 2 married daughters, but they have no children.
