Dear Jack,

    Thanks for our newsy letter.  I shall not quote you because I do not intend to return to the Seven Stairs.  I spent considerable there, but I always brought good books, so I am not exactly mad.  I do think it was rather a fast one though and it makes me feel like Red Riding Hood.
