    Do you enjoy being a force in destiny?  Because you and the class were the cause of my rapid progress (or regress) from underlined:  Never Come Morning to underlined:  Lords of the Levee to [[underlined:  Gem of the Prairie] through several other times winding up at Landesco.  I was so depressed as a result of Landesco (the final stop) I felt like getting pie-eyed drunk.  Book or no book, it was an education worthy of a Doctor's Degree.  My optimism is blasted.
     But more than ever, I can't understand why politics didn't enter into underlined:  Never Come Morning.   The West Side Levee (as they call it) is a force in ward and precinct politics (and in city politics, too, of course) to a terrific degree.
