3. Esta's stuff on the lady with the exercycle? Remember how it ended with the gal forswearing all her domestic worries and frustrations by thinking of the fight of women everywhere through the ages and in the world to come? This they accepted with high praise. I like Esta's later, less dogmatic, more human stuff better, like the one in the restaurant. Howsomever, life goes on.

   I have been annoyed with you for reviewing "Lion in the Streets" so favorably.  We split on this work:  you review favorably if it has the right message, be the writing good or bad.  If the writing is bad, I'm agin it no matter what.  The last part of that was straight Laura Jean Libbey.  And personally, to you I can say it, even if the message is good, if it is messed up with sentimentality and a general falseness, as that was, I dunno.  Did you notice all the American Eagles and American flags in the final chapters?
