written in blue ink P.S. underlined None But the Lonely Heart underlined featured Ethel Barrymore, Cary Grant and "Barry Fitzgerald" (real name Will Shields (rechristened in Hollywood), brother Arthur still living). I first saw Will with the Abbey Players here in 1927. The old Illinois Theater Seeing Odets' name on the film credits some 28 years ago, it occurred to me that he couldn't have been so knowledgeable about East End London, and later found that Richard Llewellyn wrote the original story. I thnk he wrote Brittania Mews underlined also, though I'm not certain. At one point Ethel Barrymore speaks of going to the Mile End Road, where she buys\ some clothing for her son, who is Cary Grant. I've also seen this underlined film several times, even though it was probably made entirely in Hollywood. Geo. Coulovis (probably of Cypriot origins) left Hollywood long ago because he didn't want "heavy" parts any longer. He was a proprietor of one of those "fun fairs" in that picture, but a crook, head of a gang.

P.S.S. underlined A few years ago I saw a poster on a "Ry" [in Sussex platform announcing an Agatha Christy play, Ten Little Niggers underlined. I was startled though amused. It was firstly dubbed Ten Little Indians underlined in America, now known as And There Were None underlined, which shouldn't hurt anyone!! "Barry's" in that one, too.\ Last Oct. I bought the paperback Ten Little Niggers underlined in Brighton.
