Up to nothing - finishing art on GI Bill - tried without luck to tie up with some Adv. Agency in Wash. last summer - guess my age agin me in spite of obvious talent. Smithsoman [sic] show had good write-ups - I got more publicity than any other local artist in recent years - sales about paid for expense of matting - a Chicagoan, Alfred London, 5063 Wash. Blvd., bought a soldier drawing from show - one of my best pictures, dad gum it - I never met the guy just got his check - tell him hello if you run into him, or hear of him. Didnt know Aswell underlined: had a novel, must be another author of same name - Aswell now writes propaganda for guvmint gang - them as has all the mink coats, etc. The underlined: STAR gave you a good plug - only decent paper in D.C. and that doesn't say much.

Hastily, Jack II in pencil in left margin No see Judy's book - got no money for books, only beer.
