Aug. 17 How are you? I've been loafing on the farm with my dad, who is waiting for glasses after cataract operation. H. turned out a lot of poems 3 wks. at Yaddo, led a section of Writers Conference at Pippa Passes, Ky, & is now sweating out 5 M.A.'s. Sept 7 we leave Louisville for 9 mo. visiting prof at Missoula, driving out with cat. Having never seen NW we hope for some side trips as Montana U. is on quarter system. Last 3 weeks of spring semester Harvey spent 3 wks in St. Petersburg with his mother, who died underlined: after a successful operation. Students & registrar were hysterical. Love, Lucille
