letterhead OHIO VALLEY FOLK RESEARCH PROJECT (an adventure in folk journalism) The Ross County Historical Society, Chillicothe, Ohio
1/4/63 Dear Jack:
I'm a damned heel not to have answered your letter and Christmas greeting sooner. But now I have 11 grandchildren and my holidays were full of joy, work and fatigue. too, I still have to work cam hard for a living and with age and heart-disease creeping up on this putrid old frame I have finally decided it might be good not to have to work for a living; but that is only a wicked dream, of course. Yes! I'll do anything I can to promote THE DISINHERITED and with your permission I shall include a review in one of my underlined: very humble folk publications. If you can spare a copy I'll have someone here do a review and inasmuch I have 3 children at Ohio Univ branch here maybe they can introduce it some of O.U. English faculty. And, while our folk research project can not pa a cent for m.s. it would neverthe-less be a honor if we could somehow publish a Conroy piece in our series sometime. (an Ohio Valley background - about 8 pg double-spaced).
best wishes Dave
