His talk was supposed to give us hints on civic betterment but I don't know of a single hint that he let drop. He spoke of the ballot for women in a very lordly fashion as though he himself had presented us with the 'privilege' as he called it. I regard it as a right, not a privilege.

Put up three quarts of tomatoes yesterday. I think there will be some to can next week too. Scrubbed the floor this morning and made a lemon cream pie this afternoon. This is the first I ever attempted and it looks very nice.

I think I will do the floor myself after this. Max mopped it Sunday but it didn't look very well. Wish I could see you. Write to me soon.
