Apt 2, 436 Prospect St., New Haven Conn. 06511 Feb. 4th 1966

Dear Mr Conroy,

Daniel Aaron gave me your address. I am writing a book on William Carlos Williams, and part of it is concerned with his place in, or relationship with, the proletarian movement. As you may know, he was very friendly indeed with Fred Miller of underlined: Blast, and was at least acquainted with the underlined: Dynamo boys. But I suspect you'll consider 'em all light-weights. They hardly swung the hammer like you underlined: Anvil fellows!
I would be very grateful if you could tell me if Williams was ever in touch with you. If you had any letters from him I would be extremely interested. But in examining the issues of underlined: The Anvil available to me here I can't find any contributions from Williams.
I wonder if you can help me with something further. Williams did receive a fair number of letters from H. H. Lewis, which I have seen in his correspondence. Mr. Aaron can't tell me what has become of him. I believe B. C. Hagglund was his publisher, and we can't find him either. I wonder if you can help. I strongly suspect that among Lewis' papers there should, in theory at least, be some damned enlightening letters from Williams.
With very best wishes to you. The younger generation (Im a 28 year old Englishman) salutes you.

Yours Sincerely, Michael Weaver
