2 underlined: Strings". But the whole book is a favorite with me. Recently I relished particularly the 'Arkansas Traveler' stories - especially Opie Read's "Chills & Fevers". -

Much has happened to me since we met. My first wife, a Bostonian, died in Iowa City - though she is buried in Hebron, Connecticut, where I too, shall be buried. In 1948 I moved to the Univ. of Michigan; & in 1958 I married another beautiful woman, - Antonia Degen, M.D., a German-speaking Swiss from Zurich. She is - after the European mode - highly, humanistically read - unlike her American colleagues; has great happiness in her work as I do in mine.

With warm regards from your old friend Austin
