Algren. Or did Nelson go with Doubleday? Is Schulman out of the Army yet? 

   Saw in W. Winchell's column where St. L. ? received rave notices & a 2 column spread from G. J. Walker.  Pretty good, eh?  Should assure area a good income for a long time to come.   Will he forget Slappy series now that he has hit, you think -  Why don't you muscle in on his R. Wright twas max's or somebody's coat tails & ride the comet to fame & fortune.  Damn - you know enough guys in the bucks to start pulling a few  your way just for the advice & benefit of your experiences you are able to provide them with.
   I'm going to start a $1 00 a week for Conroy promotion club here at the Tavern where I work.  Should get 5 members.  Look at the prospects.  Thousands of taverns.
