Oct. 28 '69 Dear Jack -

   Hope your trip was O.K.   Would have sent your shirt sooner but Muchacho died the 20th.  The Monday afternoon after you left.
   So, last week was a very sad, can't do anything week.  Duke was heart sick & still is - but he knows now he will survive.
   We bought a puppy, 9 wks old.  Collie - Tri-color - & looks very like Muchacho - so this week end Duke was kept busy taking him in & out - We are house breaking him - that's a full time job - Really keeps you hopping - but it was good for Duke & he is feeling better now.
    Trust you found your family well when you got back.  Probably good to be home again.
    Will go to post office soon as puppy goes to sleep.
