Dear Jack & Gladys -

    Hi - you all have been on  my mind lately, so decided to write & say hello - Hope everything is O.K. with everyone - I am still recuperating from my last surgery a month or so ago - feel pretty good but still not back to par yet.  Picked up a virus - was in bed for several days with that - but thats gone now.
    Arnold continues to work 7 days a week - all he does is work, eat & sleep.  He is getting on in years (who isn't?) he will be 71 or 72 in December.  "Retire" is a dirty word to him.  I think the tax situation will force him out of business as he can't make enough to stay even.
    Mother seems to be all right, but Ransom has taken to his bed & refuses to budge.   Helen is staying with them since Mother is not to be left alone & certainly can't carry trays upstairs to R.
