and will stay 3 days.

Naturally, I have scads of time to read. Have recently polished off 2 huge volumes of W. Somerset Maugham's

short stories, his "The Razor's Edge", dozens of paper back,, all the neighbor's magazines and the Tribune, daily and Sunday issue. O, yes, and Graham's "Wind in the Willow." Have started "Of Human Bondage," but the cruel poverty, like Dickens, depresses me, so I may skip it.

It is good thing I am a calm person, easily satisfied, or one could go nuts, being house bound. I take a short walk

most days around my apartment building - it is large, taking most of a short block and around the corner.

We will be glad when the election is over. To me, neither is a strong candidate, and everyone is tired of the petty

fault-finding. I am registered, but I doubt if I'll make it to the polling place.

I do hope you all are well - will be glad to hear from you any time. Love, Louise Miller
