      Your good letter reached me a few days ago - together with the enclosures of another of the publication of your new book, and the review by Dorothy Caufield.  I sent the review on to W. G. Clugston in Topeka who is much interested in your work - and he will see to it that it gets about among our Topeka friends.  You may remember Clugston - he published a book on Kansas fathers a few years ago called underlined:  Rascals In Democracy.
   It is good to hear from you and to know that prospects are looking bright for underlined:  They Seek a City.    I am getting a copy and looking forward to enjoying it a lot.
   I've been swamped in work all summer; in fact ever since landing in this place.   Had a two weeks vacation the last of August and spent the time divided between San Francisco and Carmel.  We saw Alan Swallow in S.F. whom I think you know.  He is a sergt. in the Medical Corps at
