   It was 1968...the year after the 6-Day War.  The signs in Lod Airport read "20th Anniversary:  1948-1968".  It was mother's and my first trip to Israel.  You may remember we went with a group of 15 that included Rabbi Mrs. Singer, some Bnai Torah Temple couples [ Shermans - Sonderlings -Bachmans] a coupla young school teacers, and a Jesuit priest from Loyola University in Chicago.
