On the Road at the Gulf States Paper Corp Folding Carton Plant, Nicholasville, Ky August 29, 1973 Dear Jack - Am down here on a trouble shooting mission for my company, and while I had a few spare minutes wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the write up about you in the Chicago Daily News Panorama Section t'other Saturday. Also, I followed up on your note & subscribed to the U of Missouri Quarterly in time to get the "Conroy issue". I keep hoping that one of these weeks a work assignment will bring me to St. Joe or K.C. so's I could stop by in Moberly and spend a little time with you n Gladys if you're in the mood. Haven't seen Nelson or Studs for many years, nor Paul n marguerite Romaine, but the other night bumped (not too hard!) into Janet Stevenson, Phil's ex. She lost her 2nd husband in a boat sinking accident in Astoria Oregon, and is back in Glencoe for a while, mother sitting. She's still writing -- good for her -- and despite her past tragedies, has a good attitude to life. Strong person.
