2 should have a first draft by the end of this month. I must say that I agree with dr. Fried's criticism in general - my treatment of your work, although it displays closeness to the subject matter, lacks enough substance and distance. I will send you copies of those chapters once they pass & are in decent form.

    How is everything in Moberly?   I hope you have been enjoying good health & that the winter has not been unkind to you & Gladys.  
    I will be gathering more material for my last chapter next month.  This chapter will be concerned with the several other projcets [sic] & work, which occupied you after the novels & the magazines.  If it is at all possible, I would like to call you & ask you about several points I am unsure crossed out:  about of.
