September 3, 1975 Dearest Conroys:

I'm so sorry I haven't answered your letter but it just seems like I'm too slow in everything I do now. My sisters were happy

to hear about you. Bert came and visited us about 5 weeks. But of course she felt like she had to go back to Hannibal. Too bad she can't live closer to us. It's too far for her to drive alone. So we went after her and then took her home later. We went through Moberly when we took her home and stopped at the cemetary [sic] at left some flowers for Mama & Papa's graves. Ann is having her problems too. She has her husband in a Nursing home and still hoping she can bring him home soon. He had a series of small strokes (of which they were not aware of) and it damaged his brain slightly. He's in good health and his mind is OK at least 80% of the time, but when he was at home he needed almost constant watching. If she can find someone to stay with her at night she could manage fine. These nursing homes are much too expensive. It costs her $23 00 per day just for his room and board. You mentioned Gladys Golden Kelly in your letter. We have wondered if Mrs. Golden is still alive. I don't think I've heard from her since she lived in Moberly. I heard Mr. Golden & Ivan were gone and maybe Irvin. You told us about the Burkes. You said all the Burkes
