29 Aug Dear Conroy - I was dismayed, on telephoning Mrs. Wayblum, to learn that you had gone back to America. My schedule became tilted, and I had to keep coming in & out of London. I did not phone when I said I would but a couple of days later, on Thursday, & left a message, and again on Saturday. I am sorry we did not have a chance to meet; it was probably entirely my fault.
